Truck
Salesman Saves the Show
As
reported in the Derbyshire Times recently,
Keltruck Account Manager Matt
Bird has saved the show!
Matt
stepped into the breach when the performer originally
cast for the role of Lun Tha in 'The King and I'
had to pull out due to family commitments leaving just
a month to learn his lines for the character.
"I
thought I'd give it a go even though I didn't know the
show or anyone in the company. It will be the first
time I've performed at the Pomegranate," said
Matt (37) who lives in Morton.
Matt,
pictured left in a different role, is no stranger to
the stage. He has trod the boards with Ripley &
Alfreton Operatic Society playing Curly in 'Oklanhoma'
& Lancelot in 'Camelot', & with Belper
Operatic Society playing Mr Snow in 'Carousel'.
'The
King and I' is at the Pomegranate Theatre,
Chesterfield from Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 May.
Performances start at 19:30 with a Saturday matinee at
14:30. Evening tickets cost £10 & the matinee
tickets are £8. To book call 01246 345222.

From
'Uttoxeter' With Love
Following their success in winning
their league in the Scania More For Your Money 3, the parts department
staff at Keltruck Burton were treated to a day out by Scania
(Great Britain) Ltd.
Staff chose a James Bond themed night at Uttoxeter
racecourse & were accompanied by their partners in an
evening's racing which was enjoyed by all.
Roulette tables
& blackjack were on offer, along with a full card of
horse racing. Winners & losers were picked, with several tips supplied from Regional
General Manager Geoff Hodgkiss, who was on hand throughout the event.
The
parts department would like to thank all those involved in this great day out
& look forward to more success in future campaigns.
Neil
Vazey & Bob Venables
Andrew Jamieson, Aftersales Director, has announced that on 1 June 2008 Neil Vazey will take over at Keltruck West Bromwich whilst Bob Venables will be moving over to Keltruck Willenhall. Russell Warner remains Regional General Manager for both depots.
This mini reorganisation sees Neil,
35, moving back to the depot where he first started as an apprentice in
1991. Since then Neil has risen through the ranks to now managing the £5m turnover operation at West Bromwich,
the biggest depot in the Keltruck network. Neil is joined by Russ Warner, Regional General Manager covering the company's aftersales operations in the Black Country area, who also started as a apprentice at the West Bromwich depot in 1987, along with Andrew Jamieson, Aftersales Director, and Chris Kelly, Chairman & Managing Director, both of whom started as apprentices in the industry.
Chris
Kelly said: "I am delighted with Neil's appointment. Having seen Neil develop from boy to man & from apprentice to senior manager I feel a sense of pride in the investment Keltruck has made in its people over the past 25 years. We look forward to many more similar success stories over the next 25 years!"
Andrew Jamieson added: "The West Bromwich depot was opened in 1983 as the company's first location. It has grown considerably since that time with a workshop extension & a paintshop connected to the accident repair centre opening in the last 18 months alone. Today Keltruck West Bromwich is the largest operation of its type in the UK offering a one-stop shop for transport operators from the truck, bus & coach sectors. Bob Venables will be taking on the Willenhall depot which continues to grow, going from strength to strength since opening back in January 2006. We wish both Neil & Bob all the best in their new roles.
Any school leavers interested in a Keltruck Scania apprenticeship should visit
keltruck.com/apprenticeships
for more information -- who knows, in 20 years time
they could be following in Neil's footsteps!"

Rock
'n' Roll Scania
Phil
Palmer, Account Manager, reports that this
unique concrete Scania was commissioned for Sharon,
Transport Manager at Roger
Bullivant Ltd's head office in Burton upon Trent, for her birthday recently.
Like all Scanias this one's a one off & built to
the customer's exact spec. This model, though, escapes
our ever rising fuel prices!
