The Driver and the Prize

The Young European Truck Driver competition is back again for 2007, which means the search to find Europe's most skilful driver is on once more – and with a top prize of a brand new Scania R-series truck valued at 100,000 Euros at stake, this is one event no young driver should miss!

Test your skills and win

Through a series of written and practical tests, Young European Truck Driver will assess your driving skills. Successful applicants will progress through a qualifying round to participate in the UK National Final. From there, the overall winner will travel to Sweden to represent the UK in the event's European Final, which is where the top prize will be awarded.

To take part you need to be:

  • Born in 1972 or later

  • A citizen of the European Union, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey

  • Working full-time as an LGV driver    

How to enter

The competition opens on Friday 12 January. You will find a dedicated Young European Truck Driver website at keltruck.com/yetd complete with online registration form.

As an added bonus, every registration we receive will be entered into a prize draw where you could win a portable DVD player, SatNav system or Scania jacket or one of the other great prizes we're giving away. 

Application forms are also available at any Keltruck dealer point.

Closing date for entries is 11 May 2007 – so make sure you act soon!


Manchester United FC Signed 1st Team Football

Keltruck's Chairman, Chris Kelly, invites you to bid for a Manchester United FC signed 1st team football, complete with certificate of authenticity, generously donated by the club to be auctioned in aid of the Ellie Bishop Trust.

So, if you'd like to own a MUFC Nike football signed by Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand, Alex Ferguson et al click here to bid via eBay by 18-Jan-07 14:01:43 GMT.

A fundraising pantomime, Cinderella (featuring the Young Ones), is also being held at the Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, Dudley, West Midlands DY2 9ER at 19:15 on Saturday 20 January. Tickets are a (minimum) £5.75 from Pam Young at Keltruck West Bromwich, including free ice-cream for all children, with all proceeds going to the Trust.
